Claire Benedict, M.S.O.T., OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Claire Winch Benedict is a certified and registered Occupational Therapist who joined Palm Beach Speech and OT Specialists in June 2022. Claire earned her Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy at New York University and earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Dayton with a minor in Psychology. She has experience therapeutically treating, including but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and congenital limb deformities, as well as, experience working in Feeding Therapy. She loves working closely with her clients and their families from a strengths-based approach to help clients obtain functional independence and joy out of day-to-day life. Claire focuses on providing a holistic, play-based, client and family-centered approach while working hard to obtain client-centered goals using evidence-based practices.

​Claire served as Co-President of her Occupational Therapy Graduate Class at NYU and served on the Executive Board of the Best Buddies Chapter at the University of Dayton. Claire completed her full-time clinical rotations for Occupational Therapy in Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation at George Washington University Hospital and in the school setting at The Lab School of Washington D.C. a charter school for students with learning disability diagnoses. She has interned with the Ernie Els Center of Excellence focusing on adaptive physical education for the autism population and lovingly worked for Adventures Program at Ascendigo Autism Services Inc. for several years facilitating outdoor adaptive athletic opportunities for individuals on the Autism Spectrum and with special needs to participate in Equine Therapy, white-water rafting and kayaking, rock-climbing and lake water sports. Claire’s passion for her field of work is tied to personal and professional connections to Autism, Special Needs, Adaptive Athletics, and Occupational Therapy, and aims to bring increased happiness, fulfillment, and functional independence to the lives of her clients.
